Yes the obvious, but don't underestimate the simple, yet effective push up. If you can do a number of pushups, consider using them as a warm up exercise. You could also invest in a weight vest to increase resistance if you want to continue to bulk up... weight vests can an awesome addition to the home workout station.

To work your inner chest more when doing a pushup, keep your hands closer together. Keep your hands further apart to work your outer chest more. To work your upper chest, do them inclined, and declined for your lower chest.

Pseudo Planche Pushups

If you know what a planche pushup is, don't worry, this isn't nearly as difficult, and will actually help you achieve an actual planche pushup. If you don't know what a planche pushup is, check it out on YouTube... it's very cool, and an awesome show of upper body strength.

To do a pseudo planche pushup, get in a regular pushup position with your elbows locked at the top of the movement. Now, lean your body forwards so you hands are now closer to being beneath your hips, as opposed to beneath your shoulders. Your elbows should still be locked in this position.

Be careful here... this can be hard on your tendons, and if you're a beginner it could be very difficult for you. The more you lean forward, the more difficult it would be, so proceed how you can, and always keep good form. Search "planche pushup" on YouTube to see one in action.

Dips

If you want to build up your lower chest, dips are definitely the way to go... they'll definitely bring out some definition in the area. To get the most benefit for your lower chest, do these with your hands on parallel bars, i.e. at your sides, your palms facing inwards, and try to keep your body upright (as opposed to using a single bar in front of you, or with your legs supported and your hands behind your back).

Dive Bombers

Dive bombers are an awesome chest and shoulder exercise, as well as incorporating other muscle groups in there to lesser extents. Instead of trying to help you visualize this through text, I'm going to suggest you do a YouTube search for dive bombers to better help you. When you're lowering yourself in the movement really push your chest into the floor (not literally... your chest shouldn't touch the floor... but feel it push in that direction), and you'll be able to feel some awesome tension in your chest and shoulders.

These are simple for the first few reps, but you tire easily when doing them, and will likely be able to do many fewer than you can pushups.

Although these chest exercises are great, you want to make sure you're switching it up and increasing your intensity regularly. If you don't progress, you won't make gains. It's as simple as that.

Chest Exercises For Men - Exercise 1: The T-Press Up

Step 1: Get into the press up position, with your hands just over shoulder-width apart and your body straight from your ankles to your head.

Step 2: Tense your abs, don't drop or raise your hips and lower yourself to the floor.

Step 3: Do a standard push up, then raise your weaker arm and raise it up. Your body will turn so that your upper body is facing left. Control your body then return to step one. (Swap which hand you raise after every press up!)

For this chest exercise you should do 10-15 of these in the first set and as many as you can on the second.

Chest Exercises For Men - Exercise 2: Parallel Bar Dips

This chest exercise is a toughy! Don't let that stop you from doing it as it will really help you to get a bigger chest. What you want is parallel bars in your gym. If there is more than one option then use bars which are spaced further apart (this works the chest muscles more; if they were closer they'd work the triceps more.)

Step 1: Grip the bars so that your arms are straight and you're elevated above the ground.

Step 2: Lower your body so that your arms bend. You want to slowly lower your body until your upper arms are parallel to the ground.

Step 3: Raise your body to the start position and repeat.

For this exercise you should do 10-15 reps on the first set, then return to exercise 1 to do the second set of that, then do as many dips as you can for the second set.

Now take a 2 minute break because we're going to do the next exercises in the chest workout for men - and these exercises need weights!

Chest Exercises For Men - Exercise 3: The Bench Press

The bench press is the most popular chest exercise for men that there is to get a bigger chest.

Step 1: You should use a barbell at heavy weight and lay down and grip the bar with your hands shoulder-width apart.

Step 2: Take the bar off the stand and hold it above your chest.

Step 3: Lower the bar until it is 1-2 inches above your chest.

Step 4: Raise it back to the starting position.

Use a spotter if you can. If you can't then don't use a weight that's too heavy! Move immediately move on to the next exercise...

Chest Exercises For Men - Exercise 4: The Dumbbell Fly

Step 1: Lie on a workout bench with a dumbbell in each hand, raised above your chest so your arms are nearly straight.

Step 2: In an arc shape, move the dumbbells out to the side, so your arms are parallel to the floor on either side of you.

Step 3: Lift your arms back up.

Take 2 minutes, then move back to exercise 3, then immediately to this one to complete the set.

Burpees are great for working on your core muscles as well as breaking a sweat.

Start in a standing position Bend down to a crouch Place your hands on the ground and kick your legs behind you; should be in a plank position Do a push up Jump your feet forward to a crouching position Spring up from your crouch and jump as high as you can, remember to out stretch your arms and reach high.

Do at least 5 Burpees and add more to your sets as you get stronger.

Russian Twists:

Lay on a declined bench Make it so your stomach and thighs are perpendicular to each other Squeeze your stomach muscles and rotate your body in a half circle from right to left This is one rep.

Do this exercise for one minute. If you want a real challenge remove the timer and do 20 slow reps each set. This time go from right to left and then left to right to complete one rep.

Plank and Stability ball:

This exercise seems like it should be easy and it even looks easy. But looks are not always what they seem. For this exercise you will need a ball and a bench.

Place your hands on a bench and put your feet up on the ball When you have balanced yourself make sure you are in the plank position Squeeze and hold your core muscles for at least 1 minute.

To make this exercise more challenging, change the angle that you are holding your arms.
